32V was a port of Seventh Edition UNIX to the new VAX platform, which had been released by DEC in 1979.
The port, done by Tom London and John Reiser at Bell Labs, treated the VAX as a `big' PDP-11 and did not take advantage of the VAX's virtual addressing features. Although 32V was functionally equivalent to Seventh Edition, it is significant as it formed the basis of the 3rd Berkeley Software Distribution (3BSD), which evolved into 4BSD and its derivatives. 32V, together with PWB/UNIX, was developed into UNIX System III, which then became UNIX System V.
I will eventually put all of 32V here, but for now I've put enough of it in so we can compare the 32V source with the Net/2 source.
